One skillset often overlooked is being able to perform basic ‘DevOps’ on your local machine. If you’re using either a Mac or Linux box, Bash is the program of choice you’ll use at the Terminal command prompt. When you’re demonstrating your skills to a prospective employer, you want to work as much at in your IDE and at the command prompt, and bash makes it possible for you to setup a directory, take stock of it, and address the operating system.
I’ve added the first of several Bash commands to LearnShortcuts today. ‘Basic Bash Commands 1’ is just the start of the hundred or so commands you’ll need to learn to be a competent developer, so expect to see more Bash sets soon!
